Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation Review

This foundation has been the talk of beauty junkies all over the internet lately and since I am still in search for the best affordable foundation, I couldn’t really resist myself from trying it myself! So I finally gave in and got myself one. I am a fan of Wet N Wild ever since and I have never tried any of their foundation so this guy is my first ever foundation from the brand.

According to them, this foundation is your best friend when taking photos because it “underwent major road testing under seven different photo lighting conditions” to make your skin appear flawless and blemish-free on your selfies. I mean, who doesn’t want to look flawless AF on their selfies?! Not me!

This foundation has 20 different shades that caters to a lot of skin tones which is a plus! I love brands that prioritizes most if not all of the skin tones that exists in the world. It retails for $5.99 and sadly it’s not available locally but you can get them through online shops!

In this era where Instagram, Twitter and Facebook exists, looking perfect is important to us and having the means to look just like that is a must for us. This foundation may be the perfect one for you.

The packaging is very classy. It comes in a glass bottle that has 30mL of product inside. Not bad for it’s price, I guess. What I don’t like about it comes with a spatula instead of a pump. It’s not really hygienic if you’re going to use it on your face but if you’re the only one whose going to use it, then feel free to do so. That’s what i do. *giggles*

I got mine from Shopee! Man, if someone warned me that Shopee is hella addicting, I wouldn’t have dared browsing through it! *giggles* So, to you, whoever reading this right now, I’m warning you already! Shopee is very addicting and NO THIS POST IS DEFINITELY NOT SPONSORED! *laughs* I got mine for PHP450.00! It’s such a good deal considering that it does the job of covering up the things I wanna hide! *wink*

I’m not sure if it has claims of being matte or dewy but I have oily/combination skin and it’s matte on me. It’s not totally matte though! It’s somewhere between matte and dewy.

It has a thin/watery consistency. It’s lightweight and what I really love about this product is it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything on my face. It’s not sticky at all!

The smell… hmmm… It has a weird smell and I honestly can’t describe it. Don’t get me wrong it’s not strong and overpowering! It’s just weird because I cannot describe it! I’m not really sensitive when it comes to smell so it will depend on you.

I prefer using a sponge with this one for some reason. I have a lot of pores and lines underneath my eyes and one thing I noticed about it is it settles on them when I glide the sponge on my face when applying so make sure to just gently dab the sponge on your face because it’ll look bad if you just glide it on your face! Plus, your just letting the sponge absorb the foundation! It’s very easy to blend and it’s buildable and so far I never experienced cakiness (is that even a word?) on this foundation. It’s only light-medium coverage so don’t expect this foundation to cover up everything! Make sure to apply concealer after applying it to add coverage!

It doesn’t have SPF so make sure to put on sunscreen or a moisturizer that has SPF to protect your skin from the sun!

This is how it looks like on me. Yes, I have A LOT of visible pores, lines, hyperpigmentation, milias and acne scars so having a really good foundation is important to me. Also, I have dark circles because I have a bad habit of scratching my eyes in the morning and when I’m sleepy. *cries*

It’s my current go-to foundation. I can’t say it’s the best but it’s good.

I’m always afraid to buy foundations online cos I might get a wrong shade then all my money would go to waste. But I agree, shopee is pretty addicting. It has almost everything! Especially when it comes to our makeup needs. I have two huge pimple scars on my face right now and that’s why I appreciate foundations nowadays. Nice review! I hope they’ll launch this line locally as well.
