Kleancolor madly matte lipgloss review + swatches

I’ve always been a sucker for cheap makeups, I mean who isn’t? I discovered the brand KleanColor from my aunt, who was the one who hoarded about 300 pieces of drugstore products from the US and KleanColor was one of them. One thing I have noticed right away is their lipsticks. They have 48 colors for this particular line of lipstick which I find really surprising from a lowkey brand but hey who am I to complain? I mean, 48 colors?! WOW! Of course, I don’t have ALL the shades they have but I still want to share my thoughts about it and… SWATCHES!

Each of the 48 gorgeous shades of Madly Matte Lip Gloss provides rich color in a matte finish for all day wear without drying. It goes on as a highly pigmented liquid and dries to a smooth matte finish. Lips are colored in velvety perfection that lasts. So grab one… or 48 and go! You’re off to a smooth start with Madly Matte Lip Gloss from Kleancolor.

  • Long Lasting
  • Rich color
  • Matte Finish
  • No dry feeling

First things first, the packaging! There’s nothing really special about its packaging. Like any other liquid lipsticks out there, it comes in a transparent plastic tube with a black plastic cap. The brand name is printed on it with the name of the lipstick line. I find it so weird though that they named it LIP GLOSS when it’s actually matte? Maybe it’s just me. *giggles*

One thing I noticed is that the name of the shade isn’t printed on the packaging. It only has a sticker with a number on the bottom which is also the shade but I prefer their actual names. I don’t know why they didn’t bother.

It comes with a doe-foot applicator which I find very flimsy. I think the length made it really soft and easily breakable so that’s another con about this product but I can work with it and that’s what matters.

I got 5 matte liquid lipsticks and one metallic because I’ve been wanting to try a metallic liquid lipstick ever since Colourpop came out with one and I’m still not ready to splurge with lipsticks after my last Colourpop haul so I’m really happy that Kleancolor has a metallic line too.

This metallic one is called Coral. The color is really pretty. It’s pretty lightweight on the lips but it takes a couple swipes to cover your lips entirely and to get the full opacity. It’s not too chunky BUT it gets chunkier every time you build it up with more swipes but I really love its color. Like it’s name, it’s pink but it has a coral touch in it.

and here are the mattes;

PRICE: $1.00

Is it pigmented? Most of it but not ALL.

The finish of their matte lipsticks varies from color to color. The pinks and reds are more forgiving but the violet ones… I can pretty much say it is the W O R S T lipstick I have ever tried. One swipe, you’ll get some color off of it but when you press your lips together, man!!!! The color transfers and its really sticky! See the swatch on my lips on the photo below. I did about 7-9 swipes just to get that opacity and it didn’t even covered my lips entirely! It’s so sticky and looks really disgusting on the lips but other than that, the others has a really smooth finish! It also takes time to set but like I said it really varies from color to color and some shades are sticky even when dry some aren’t. Honestly? It’s really good considering the price.

It has a faint smell of something… It kind of reminds me of my childhood erasers? You know those eraser that has a sweet scent to it? It’s close to that! I’m not really sensitive with smells and it goes away when the lipstick dries down so I guess it’s not really big of a deal.

Lasting power

It’s pretty hard to remove on the lips. First, I used an oil based make up remover but that didn’t removed it completely so I had to use a micellar cleansing water afterwards to remove the entire thing on my lips. Eating will definitely remove this lipstick as any other lipstick out there.

Yes, most of it are pigmented particularly the reds but the violets sucks and the pinks are tolerable and I mean for $1? They’re pretty good for that price.

As you can see, Electric Violet looks like a lip stain. LOL.

It’s not locally available but there are A LOT of resellers on Shopee so you can surely get it from there but expect higher price.

Despite its cons, I really am impressed with the wide range of colors. It’s not so drying on the lips. They have everything from nudes to pinks to reds to violets and considering that this product only retails from $1.00 is beyond me! It’s definitely worth the try!
